CarePortal exists to help hurting children and families in our surrounding communities. All requests submitted through CarePortal come from Kettering City Schools, caseworkers at government child welfare agencies or other child-serving organizations approved by CarePortal to vet needs.

We have a request to help out a mom who just had a new baby. She is doing well with the baby items, but she and her 6 year old are in need of some everyday essentials.
BUNK BEDS FOR KETTERING KIDDOS
We have a request to help out a family right around the corner from us! This Grandma has custody of her grandchildren and is in need of 2 complete bunk bed sets to accommodate all of the children: first bunk bed is for boys ages 8 and 4. The second bunk bed will be for the girls ages 5 and 7! This is a perfect opportunity for us to reach out to our neighbors and shine the light of Jesus in a practical way!

She is in need of all the newborn baby essentials as well as gift cards to help out with groceries. We are also supporting a 14 yr old boy that was recently placed with a family member for care. He is in need of a dresser and clothing!
17 YEAR OLD DAYTON BOY - BEDROOM FURNITURE
We have received a new CarePortal request for a 17 year old boy. This young man has been in foster care for over a year and is being placed in a non relative home to prevent him from aging out of the system. He needs some bedroom furniture! We have an incredible opportunity to step up and help this young man to maintain a home and stability!

Single mother in Dayton is taking care of her elderly mother and her 17 year-old daughter is having a baby soon. They aren’t able to afford baby items so we are going to bless the family by providing them.
48 SETS OF HEADPHONES FOR KETTERING
With students remote learning from home, there is a great need for Chromebook compatible headphones for kids that aren’t able to afford them. We were able to provide 48 sets of headphones for these students!
PREGNANT TEENAGE GIRL IN DAYTON
This request is to help out a 15 year old young lady in the Dayton area who had decided to keep and give birth to a baby girl in October. The Dayton CarePortal team has decided to fulfill this request Baby Shower style! Several Churches are joining together to make sure she gets everything she needs to care for this baby! Kettering family with 4 children! In July, this family had their baby 4 weeks early and the day they came home from the hospital they received notice that the house they have been renting for 6 years is being sold. Brigid's path is working with this family and the mother reached out to them for assistance with baby items and clothing for her older children. We have an incredible opportunity to love on this family during a difficult time!
